Second World Waterfowl Conference
Second Announcement and Call for Papers
This conference takes place every 4 years, and this year it is organized by the Egyptian Poultry Science Association(EPSA), in conjunction with the Poultry Production Department, Alexandria University, and the European Federation of (WPSA) Branches "group # 8, waterfowl".
This conference is organized for scientists and people involved in waterfowl production worldwide. It will be held at Alexandria University in Alexandria - Egypt.
The mission of the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) is to encourage communication and collaboration among individuals and organizations associated with poultry production and poultry biology in general.
Welcome to Alexandria
On the behalf of the European Federation of WPSA branches, 8th group and the Egyptian Poultry Science Association EPSA as a host, we would like to invite you to take an active part in making the Second World Waterfowl Conference 2003 a success. This second announcement will be mailed and e-mailed to individuals, scientists and industry personnel; WPSA members and non-members. Please reserve April 7-9 "Alexandria" in your 2003 calendar, register early to benefit from special rates and pass the information to colleagues who are interested in poultry and waterfowl but not members of the WPSA.
The ongoing search for sustainable waterfowl production systems, which aim to improve balance between bird welfare, productivity, product quality, environment and acceptance by producers and consumers, will find a platform for constructive discussion that can assist national and European legislators. In addition to the papers from invited speakers we expect to get a significant number of short communications and posters.
Since airfares are usually cheaper if they reserved early enough, we encourage you to book your tickets as early as you can. We have scheduled post conference tours to the most wonderful and historical parts in Egypt. Two post conference trips will be offered to the historical city of Luxor, or to the sunny city of Hurghada with its beautiful resorts, sea diving and natural attractions. We hope this would help to attract participants not only from Europe, but from all parts of the world.
The program includes the possibility of social tours in cites of Alexandria and Cairo during the conference period for the accompanying persons. All participants should find time to explore Alexandria on their own. A trip to the Greek Roman museum, Citadel, and an afternoon walk by the seashore would be the right way to relax after a busy conference day.
